The issue of climate change and environmental sustainability has gained significant global attention in recent years. Carbon footprint management has emerged as a crucial strategy for various sectors to mitigate their impact on the environment and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Understanding and managing carbon footprints has become a key consideration for businesses, industries, and organisations across different sectors.
This GHG accounting verification and validation training course will equip learners with knowledge and abilities on environmental and sustainability compliance requirements, best practices for environmental protection initiatives and key components of carbon footprint reduction plans.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN FROM THE GHG ACCOUNTING VERIFICATION AND VALIDATION COURSE?
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Formulate initiatives for advancement in environmental and sustainability practices that ensure compliance of organisations and its suppliers
- Lead organisation’s sustainable purchasing and disposal policies
- Devise improvement strategies for environmental and resource sustainability initiatives such as environmental management systems, green office programs, transportation enhancements, surveys and audits
- Formulate measures to monitor gas emissions and effectiveness of reduction plans
- Provide guidance on Environmental Management Systems (EMS) requirements in accordance to local and international standards
Topics to be covered in this course includes:
- Fundamentals of carbon management such as key components of a greenhouse gas accounting report
- ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) standard frameworks and its relationship with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- Industry best practices for environmental protection initiatives
- Monitoring and measuring greenhouse gases
- External benchmarking to environmental and sustainability compliance requirements
Upon completion of this course, participants can enroll in the GHG Accounting Lead Verifier Certification Program to develop knowledge and expertise necessary to become a lead verifier and perform independent verification of an organisation’s carbon footprint.
WHAT IS THE GHG ACCOUNTING VERIFICATION & VALIDATION COURSE METHODOLOGY?
Participants will learn through lectures, case studies, group exercises and discussions. There will be two methods of assessment at the end of the course comprising of a written test and a case study assessment.
